Cato Park Trail Run

by: Julianne Yacovone 6 years ago

Over the past year our department has been adamant about improving and promoting our trails at Cato Park. We have done several events at Cato Park and Program Coordinator Kelsey Gilbert has done several guided trail hikes. This fall Kelsey decided to make things more exciting and adventurous on the Cato trails. Kelsey decided to create the Cato 5 miler, the first trail run at Cato Park. Following that decision many of our regular local trail runners expressed great interest in a run at the park. A great way to get active and stay warm so close to Thanksgiving. On November 18th the public will get to explore the somewhat challenging terrain of the Cato Park trail system.

Bring your sense of adventure and your running shoes and hit the trails. The course is moderate to challenging and will go throughout the Cato woods and along the creek. The race will kick off at 10am on the Cato Park Soccer field. Registration is $30 and includes your long sleeved race shirt. You can register by emailing kelsey.gilbert@cityofcharleston.org or on tristateracer.com, same-day registration will begin at 9am. We hope to see the large community of runners in Charleston at the Cato 5 miler!
